50 Minute Training Program
Warm Up
The purpose of a warm up is an integral part in assisting
the preparation of both our mind and body for the upcoming physical activity.
The warm up will allow increased blood flow to our working muscles and create
more oxygen available to them, allowing them to contact, relax and work faster.
The best way to conduct a warm up is through a graded series of dynamic
movements that eventually replicate both the speed and range of motion of the upcoming
activity whilst including a touch ball for extra practise. Relating to this
information the 7 minute warm up activity I have planned will include a game of
fox and hounds. This game will start with a team of people randomly spread out
inside the markers, whilst the other team is standing outside the box. The team
inside will start by passing the ball 8 times in any order and direction. On
the 8th pass a team member on the outside will run in and try to
intercept the ball, touch the player will the ball or try to make the other
team drop the ball. They teams will repeat this until eventually the team
inside the box either drop or loose the ball or are tagged by the other team.
This warm up will overall focus on communication and teamwork whilst also including
touch specific skills.
